Caledonia

Every Road. All Day.
The all-new Caledonia

A proper Cervélo you can actually live with

The Caledonia points Cervélo's race knowledge at the roads most of us actually ride: patched tarmac, long days, winter miles, the odd gravel shortcut on the way home. Endurance geometry tuned around 32mm tyres, clearance for 36mm, mounts for a computer and mudguards, and a threaded bottom bracket that will still come apart in five years. Fast where it counts, sensible everywhere else.

What has changed

Lighter, wider, easier to own

Caledonia climbing

53 Grams Lighter

A reworked carbon layup

Cervélo rebuilt the layup rather than simply thinning it, so the new Caledonia frame comes in 53 grams under the outgoing one with no loss of stiffness or durability. You notice it on the third hour and the fourth climb, not on the spec sheet.

Caledonia tyre clearance

Room For 36mm Tyres

More rubber, more road

Clearance for tyres up to 36mm, or 34mm with full mudguards fitted. Run 32s for the Sunday group ride, drop to 30s for a fast day, go wider for the farm tracks. The handling is tuned around a 32, so that is the sweet spot to start from.

Caledonia cockpit and computer mount

No Bleed To Swap A Stem

Mechanic-friendly routing

Cables run cleanly out of the wind but not through the stem, so changing your stem length after a bike fit does not mean bleeding the brakes. It takes integrated or semi-external setups, and the front computer mount is built in.

Ride-all-day geometry

Stable once you stop thinking about it

A 1013mm wheelbase, 415mm chainstays and a 72° head tube angle, tuned around 32mm tyres. Predictable on a fast descent, calm in a group, and still looking after you six hours in when your concentration is not.

More about the Caledonia

The Caledonia is Cervélo's endurance road bike, and it is the one in the range most riders should probably be looking at first. The same carbon knowledge that goes into the S5 and the R5, aimed at real roads rather than closed ones. A longer wheelbase, a taller front end, room for proper tyres, and mounts for the things that make a bike genuinely useful through a Scottish winter.

There are two frames in the family. The Caledonia here, and the Caledonia-5, which uses a higher grade carbon layup and a fully integrated cockpit. Same geometry, same clearances, different weight and different money.

Geometry is tuned around a 32mm tyre: a 1013mm wheelbase, 415mm chainstays and a 72° head tube angle. It is stable without feeling slow, which is the trick endurance bikes usually get wrong in one direction or the other.

The T47A threaded bottom bracket deserves a word on its own. Threaded shells are easier to service, quieter over time and far more forgiving of the wet, salted roads we get here between November and March. Put that together with cable routing that does not pass through the stem and you have a bike that stays cheap and quick to look after.
