Genesis started in 2001 with a single bike, the Day One, and grew into one of the few British brands that never stopped believing in steel. Reynolds tubing on most of the range, colourways that actually have some character, and frames built to be ridden loaded, in winter, for years. They were making adventure bikes before anyone called them that.

The Croix de Fer is the one everything else orbits. The original do-it-all steel gravel bike, and a bike that has quietly improved every year without ever losing the point of itself. It will commute, tour, race a gravel event and carry a week of luggage, which is a genuinely rare combination.

The CDA is the value sibling. Same geometry and the same handling, with a lighter aluminium frame and a steel fork to keep the front end comfortable, at a price that makes a lot of sense as a first proper gravel bike. There is a CDA JNR too, for juniors who have outgrown a kids bike but are not on an adult frame yet.

The Tour de Fer is the full touring bike, racks, cages and mounts included, built for loaded long-haul riding rather than weekend gravel. If you are planning something serious, ask us, and see the touring page.

Steel is the reason to buy one. It rides with a bit of give that carbon and alloy do not have, it can be repaired rather than written off, and it will still be a good bike in fifteen years. Where a bike is out of stock, the notify me button will let you know when it lands.
