Race Bikes

Road racing is part of the shop's heritage. Billy Bilsland rode for Great Britain and turned professional on the continent before opening the doors in 1980, and the bikes here are the modern version of what he raced. Aerodynamic, stiff, low at the front, and built with no compromises on groupsets or wheels.

What you are paying for is a frame that puts the power down without flexing, tube shapes worked out in a wind tunnel, and a position that rewards a flexible back. The trade is comfort over a long day, which is why we also range endurance bikes for riders who would rather be fresh in the fourth hour than a few watts quicker in the first.

Cervélo are the biggest part of this selection, with the S5, R5 and Soloist. Pinarello bring the Dogma F, Scott the Foil and Addict RC, and Merida the Reacto and Scultura at noticeably more sensible money. Argon 18 sit quietly in the middle of all of it and deserve more attention than they get.

Custom builds are welcome. If you want a particular groupset, wheelset or finishing kit on a frame, talk to us rather than settling for the stock spec.

Every bike is built and checked by our mechanics before it leaves, and a race bike more than any other wants a proper bike fit. Come in or give us a ring.
