Selling bikes in Glasgow since 1980
We’re one of the longest-established bike shops in Scotland, fitting people to bikes from 176 Saltmarket since 1980.
We’re not going anywhere, which matters when you’re buying something you will want looked after for the next ten years.
We care about you getting the right bike, not the one that suits us. If that means a cheaper bike, a different size, or coming back next season, that is fine by us.
Every bike is built from scratch
Bikes do not leave here the way they arrive. Every one is assembled by our Cytech Level 2 mechanics:
- Built up by hand from the box, not part-assembled
- Brakes bedded in properly on our brake bedding roller
- Everything greased to suit a Glasgow winter
- Buddy-checked by a second mechanic
- Test ridden before it is re-boxed
Bikes are then packed for shipping so there is minimal assembly at your end.
Free changes before the bike is built
The cheapest time to change anything on a bike is before it is built. Doing it later means re-cabling, bleeding brakes and re-taping bars — so we would rather do it at the build stage, for free.
Saddle, stem, bars, wheels, tyres, cranks, bar tape, groupset, pedals, luggage, mudguards. If you want something different, ask.
Ordering online? Select your upgrade, or add a note to your order when you check out.
Very few bikes leave the shop exactly as they came to us. Stem and tyre changes are the most common.
Bike fit and setup
Had a bike fit elsewhere? Send us your fit data and we will set the bike to your position before it ships. Small adjustments make a big difference.
We will also ask the questions worth asking:
- Are the gears low enough for where you actually ride?
- Is the tyre width right?
- Do you have a favoured tyre brand?
- Fancy going tubeless?
Bike fit is a big part of what we do in store, and usually involves swapping saddles, bars and stems. Whether it is our suggestion or your requirement, we are here to help you buy the right bike.
Free test rides
Ride it before you buy. We offer free test rides on any bike, or several bikes, around Glasgow Green — which is on our doorstep.
After you have bought
Free 6-week service
After roughly 300 miles, cables stretch and spokes bed in. That is completely normal. Bring the bike back and we will re-tension the cables, index the gears, check every bolt to the correct torque and sort anything that has settled. It is free, and it takes about half an hour.
Priority workshop access, for as long as you own the bike
We never turn away someone who bought their bike from us, no matter how busy we are. You may have to leave it with us for a couple of days, but you will be at the top of the list.
Free bike box hire
We will lend you a hard-case Bike Box Alan whenever you are travelling with your bike. Just tell us when you need it and we will book you in.
60-day returns
If it is not right, send it back.
Bikes bought online
Bikes are fully built up, safety-checked and test ridden by our mechanics, then boxed with just the bars to turn, fit the pedals (remember pedals are specific to each side) and front wheel and away you go.
