CERVÉLO

Cervélo started in a university basement in Montreal in 1995, when two engineers decided the quickest way to build a fast bike was to work out the aerodynamics first and worry about tradition second. The name is cervello and vélo stitched together, Italian for brain and French for bike, which tells you most of what you need to know. Three decades on they have won the Tour de France and the Ironman World Championship, and they still design the same way.

The reputation was built in the wind tunnel and against the clock, where a bike is either faster or it is not and there is no argument to be had about it. That habit spread across the whole range. The S5 is the out and out aero bike, the R5 is the light one for the mountains, the Soloist sits between the two, and the Caledonia takes the same engineering somewhere more comfortable for long days on rough roads.

Every bike is built and checked by our mechanics before it leaves. If you are between sizes, or weighing up two frames against each other, come into the shop or give us a ring and we will talk it through.
