Pumps

You want two: a track pump at home for setting pressure accurately, and something small on the bike for getting going again after a puncture.

A track pump with a decent gauge is the one that matters. Tyre pressure has more effect on how a bike rides than most upgrades, and you cannot judge it by thumb. If you run tubeless, look for a pump that can seat a tyre — or a charger canister that does it in one blast.

For the ride, mini pumps are lighter and endlessly reusable; CO2 is faster and warmer on the hands in February. Plenty of people carry both.
