SCOTT FASTLANE

The Fastlane is a bike that gives you just what you’d imagine – an electric road bike built for smooth acceleration and swift ascents.

Hiding in plain sight, the design of the Fastlane is so discreet that you have to look twice to see that it is an electric road bike. Esthetically, there is little to reveal its hidden power: the downtube is slim, the drive unit concealed between the cranks, and none of the telltale big displays or remotes around the cockpit. The Fastlane has it all, in true incognito fashion

DESIGN

The Fastlane boasts smooth lines and a svelte silhouette, and the joy it brings to conquer climbs like a pro is unparalleled. It shares geometry with its acoustic sibling, the new Addict road bike. The lightweight, aero design is intended to save on watts – battery watts – and to help maintain a cruising speed of above 25km/h (or 28mph in the US).

No awkward mode shifting positions, no noisy drive units. Just pure enjoyment and a natural riding feeling. With the Fastlane, you can stay present and embrace the ride.

DRIVE UNIT

The new TQ HPR40 drive unit is even lighter and more discreet than the previous generation. What does this mean in real terms? The motor is more compact and efficient, making the pedaling akin to that of an acoustic bike. Imagine a gentle push on the back when you need it the most – that’s the support you’ll get from the HPR40. You’ll barely notice it’s there. Did we mention how quiet it is?

BATTERY

The sleek silhouette of the Fastlane hides a 290Wh battery – plenty of charge for longer days in the saddle. Thanks to the low weight and riding capabilities of the Fastlane, the battery can easily be conserved while you’re cruising above 25km/h (or 28mph in the US). At this threshold, the drive unit smoothly disengages, ready to kick in again when the road turns upward and you need that subtle but welcome boost.

CHARGING

The charging time is a swift 3 hours to reach 100%. For those extra big rides (and peace of mind), the new charger from TQ is small enough to carry in the Syncros IS Road frame bag – an ideal accessory for the job. If you want to go even further afield, a TQ 160Wh range extender is always an option.
