Gravel racing asks different things of your kit than gravel touring does. Rolling speed and weight matter more, carrying capacity matters less, and being able to deal with a tubeless puncture in under a minute matters a great deal.

Shoes are the one to get right. You will end up walking at some point, whether you planned to or not, so a two-bolt sole you can actually stand up in is worth more than the last few percent of stiffness a road sole would give you.

If your gravel riding is more about distance and carrying things than about pace, the commuting and touring side of the range is the better place to start.
