A road bike's pace, a mountain bike's tyres
Scott have not facelifted the Addict Gravel, they have redrawn it. The frame is lighter and the clearance is wider, but the change you actually feel is compliance, built into the shape of the carbon so there is no linkage, no pivot and nothing to service. It is still quick enough to hold a wheel on tarmac. It is now genuinely happy when the tarmac runs out.

Up from 45mm
Wide enough for a 2.2in mountain bike tyre, which is not a spec sheet curiosity in this part of the world. Every build ships on 50mm Schwalbe G-One RX Pro, and there is room above that when the route deserves it. Tyres change a gravel bike more than any other component, and this frame finally lets you use that.
Compliance in the carbon
30 per cent more at the front, 60 at the rear
The fork legs bow, the steerer is down to 27.2mm and the cockpit is new, which together take about 30 per cent more out of the front. At the back a thinned seat tube, dropped seatstays designed to flex and a top tube allowed to deflect take around 60 per cent more. There is no suspension and nothing to maintain. It is the frame moving where it should.
Geometry for hour four
Taller, longer, calmer
Stack is 10mm higher and reach 10mm longer, with the cockpit shortened by 10mm so your hands end up where they were. The bottom bracket has dropped and the fork rake has grown to keep the steering honest with a bigger tyre. The result is a bike that settles down on a loose descent instead of arguing with you.
Somewhere to put things
Storage and mounts, done properly
There is hidden storage inside the down tube and in the bar ends, so a tube, a multi-tool and a plug kit stop living in your jersey. The bottle mounts have moved to the back of the fork legs, which cuts the inertia of a loaded fork by about 35 per cent. A replaceable UDH hanger means any shop in the country can put it right.
What the new frame actually gained
Five builds, one frame shape
The numbers are build levels and lower means higher. Premium and 10 run the 794 gram HMX frame, the 20, 30 and 40 run HMF at 990 grams. Every one of them clears 57mm and ships on 50mm tyres.
