The cages are where most people meet them. Carbon and composite versions save weight, and the retention is the thing that separates a good cage from a cheap one, which you find out on the first bad road rather than in the shop.

The bottles are straightforward and they seal, which sounds like a low bar until you have had one leak into a jersey pocket. Some are insulated, which is more useful in a Scottish January than in July.
